How Do I Know What God Wants Me To Do?

Frequently Asked Questions

Sermon 5 in the Frequently Asked Questions series, by Dr. Steven D. Bruns.

With some things it’s easy to know what God’s will is—you can read about them in the Bible: Do not steal; Do not murder; etc.

But what about things that are not specifically mentioned in scripture? Should I become a missionary? Should I go into business for myself? Should I take the treatment my doctors are offering, or not? Which school should I go to? Who should I marry?

What About Hypocrites?

Frequently Asked Questions

Sermon 3 in the Frequently Asked Questions series, by Dr. Steven D. Bruns.

So, what about hyopcrites? The short answer is, we can always use another one at church!

On a more serious note, we need to admit that when we talk about hypocrites, we are really talking about ourselves. We all fall short. But that doesn’t mean we can’t and shouldn’t do our best to live up to God’s expectations of us. By dealing with our own sins and shortcomings and resisting the urge to point out the faults in others, we will be taking the first best step on the path to holy living.
