Being the visible and active presence of Christ in our community

God’s Resurrection Power

April will begin in sorrow and end in celebration. Easter falls mid month this year. This means we will begin the month mid-way through our Lent journey to the cross of Jesus. Even as we will celebrate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, we know the cross is coming. Yet, as April 30 arrives, we will fully be in the ongoing celebration of Jesus’ victory over the cross.

As April begins for you, what dry and parched deserts are you walking through? Is there a shadow looming over you? What about your family, friends, our country, and our world? Hold on to this truth from 1 Corinthians 6:14,

“God has raised the Lord and will raise us through his power.”

In your prayer time, speak to God as plainly and directly as you can about the shadows, the brokenness, the hurt, and the dryness. Then, remember God’s resurrection power is actively working to make all things new. Not just some things, but all things. Are we daring enough to believe God is making us new too? He is!
