The question of evil and how we think about it and deal with it has been one of the most frequent questions asked through the ages. While God did not create evil, it does exist and we have to wrestle with it daily. Ultimately, why it exists really can’t be explained sufficiently, because it just doesn’t make sense.

The good news is, God is able to defeat evil, in all its various incarnations. We need to depend on God for ultimate victory over evil.

But what about things that are not specifically mentioned in scripture? Should I become a missionary? Should I go into business for myself? Should I take the treatment my doctors are offering, or not? Which school should I go to? Who should I marry?

So, what about hyopcrites? The short answer is, we can always use another one at church!

On a more serious note, we need to admit that when we talk about hypocrites, we are really talking about ourselves. We all fall short. But that doesn’t mean we can’t and shouldn’t do our best to live up to God’s expectations of us. By dealing with our own sins and shortcomings and resisting the urge to point out the faults in others, we will be taking the first best step on the path to holy living.
