Being a visible and active presence of Christ in our community

Back to School

My dear brothers, and sisters, who doesn’t agree with me in wondering how fast this year is passing by. Some people may be returning from their summer vacation. However, August has already gone, and September is bringing us new challenges, events for others. We all may agree that this time is a very special for parents whose children are already back in school. It’s a great relief for them.

As a church, we are preparing and starting for mission events. We are resuming our Disciple 1 and 3 classes, and we are in the process to work on a new project of a small group Bible class, among other activities. But we are going to work on all these events with joyful praise to God, as we recognize this spiritual attitude in this extract of the letter Paul wrote to the Ephesians:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will…(Ephesians 1:3-5 NIV)

As Christ disciples, we should always be in a continuous learning process of the Holy Scriptures (Koinonia). Remember that Christ, the Living Word always has for us Eternal wisdom, and it always leads us for a more and deeper intimate relationship with God, seeking your personal purpose, and don’t forget that our TUMC vision statement, “to be a visible and active presence of Christ in our community”, and our Mission is “to make people Christ’s disciple for the transformation of the world”.
